Alppasa mansions consist of mansion houses,main buildings of which were built around mid-18 th century,and the annexes at the beginning of the 19 th century.By examining their historical and architectural properties,it is known that these structures had belonged to the aristocratic class governing the city,where the guests and traders coming to the city through the sea-route had been accommodated in those magnificent mansions in accordance with their motive of building.The mansions,main caracteristics of which carry traces from the Ottoman architectural features,constitute a unique mosaic,whit sections from every period of the history together with the structures from Hellenistic,Roman,Byzantine and Seljuk periods in Kaleiçi,which has been inhabited uninterruptedly from the antic era to this day.
	This cultural heritage has been restored in harmony with its original stucture taking its historical value into the consideration,and was provided with an accommodation facility during reservation works,a historical cistem,embroidered vaults on top of wooden columns,and column heads were found around the mosaic-encircled pool discovered monuments were preserved in their original locations and a small museum was set up.The harmony between the arts of stone carving and wood embroidering is noticed at first glance.Many properties,such as hand-carved wooden ceilings,Bagdadi style walls,fireplaces etc.Were discovered and preserved in the rooms.These mansions,in which the wood meets technology and united with contemporary comfort,were bestowed to tha Turkish tourism sector by the Turkish entepreneur-businessman Mehmet Alp as a hotel,restaurant,cafe and bar in 1995.
